A Gift from Toledo Spain in the Wohl Rose Garden.
This large plaque is in the middle of the gifts from the Nations section.

The dedication of the Spanish section was held in 1993, five centuries after the expulsion of Jews from Spain in 1492. The dedication ceremony was performed in person by Spain's King Juan Carlos I and his spouse Queen Sofia. At that historic moment the King apologized for the very unfortunate and tragic event, enforced by the Catholic King Ferdinand and Queen Isabel, that took place in the national Spanish history when the Jewish builders of Kingdom of Spanya's (Spanya / Spania = Ladino for 'Spain') wealth were forced under death penalty to leave their homes and property to go nowhere. During the visit of King Juan Carlos I a big trilingual (Spanish, Hebrew, and Arabic) memorial plaque was opened. It reads:
'Toledo a la Ciudad de Jerusale'm Jardin de Espan^a -- Plaza de Toledo Inaugurado en presencia de Sus Majestades Los Reyes de Espan^a Don Juan Carlos I y Don^a Sofia 10 de Noviembre de 1993'
