    Search Engines

    A search engine is composed of a database, and search program, and a web-server. The search program contains the algorythm (formula) of the search. It is the major factor in what results are received. The size of the database is the second major factor. Reports are published on the actions of search engines. Technically Yahoo is not a search engine. It is a directory compiled by humans using human judgement. It is slow to register new material.
